Seabed surveys have been completed over potential drilling locations to support the Otway Exploration Drilling Program. The seabed surveys were completed in compliance with our Environment Plan.

Exclusion zones and requested clearances around vessels that were in-place during the seabed surveys have been removed. We thank you for your cooperation while we completed this activity.

Next steps

Information collected during the seabed surveys is now being assessed. Exploration drilling is scheduled to commence later this year.

ConocoPhillips Australia is part of an industry consortium that has contracted the Transocean Equinox rig (a Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit). ConocoPhillips Australia will use the rig to undertake exploratory drilling as part of our approved Otway Exploration Drilling Program.

Other companies in the consortium are using the rig for their own activities that are unrelated to our Program.

ConocoPhillips Australia will notify relevant persons before commencement and at the conclusion of its activities.
