Safely coexisting with marine and coast users, including fishers, during program activities is important to us. During exploration activities, we will provide users with early and ongoing notification including the rig location, exclusion zones and vessel transit routes.
During the project, standard protocols at sea will be followed, including:
- Providing notifications to the Australian Hydrographic Office before mobilising to the operational area, moving to different well locations, and when demobilising.
- Communicating with other vessels and marine users using radio and other methods.
- Maintaining safe operating distances around vessels and the drilling rig.
- Complying with Navigational Safety requirements.
We welcome feedback on our notification tactics and communication performance at any time.
Information about exclusion zones will be provided prior to activities commencing.
Regular updates including information about mobilisation, drill rig location and vessel routes will be provided to the Australian Hydrographic Office and Australian Maritime Safety Authority.
Notices to Mariners will also be developed progressively throughout the project. Notices will be available on this webpage, and you can subscribe to receive them via email.
